Kratom & 7-OH

Kratom

A plant native to Southeast Asia whose leaves contain naturally occurring chemicals that interact with opioid receptors in the brain. It is sold in the United States in powder form, capsules, tablets, and as a brewed tea or liquid shot. You will find it in gas stations, smoke shops, and health food stores, often marketed as a natural supplement, a wellness product, or an herbal alternative to prescription painkillers. It is none of those things.

7-OH

The primary active compound in kratom is responsible for its opioid-like effects. In recent years, highly concentrated 7-OH products have appeared on the market in extract form meaning users can now consume doses far beyond what the raw plant would deliver. These concentrated products dramatically increase the risk of addiction, overdose, and dangerous interactions with other substances.
